I have a 1989 125 force and was told that two of the pistons are damaged and replacements can't be found. If anyone can help me find these it would save me thousands of dollars.
THANKS EVERYONE!!!

Merc still has .030 over pistons for them. Try the parts catalog at www.crowleymarine.com. You might find a OEM version at GLM, (www.glmmarine.com) not the best but o.k. for general use.

Unless that motor is in pristine shape otherwise, you're gonna spend thousands just keeping it running. You might start thinking about saving for a replacement.

HOGWASH! Pistons are still available. Stock size 3.3125. You need to check the cylinders for damage to see if the block needs to be bored oversized. You can go .010, .020, and .030 over. In addition to Sierra, Vertex, and Merc, Wiseco sells pistons and they are easier to install than stock type. Forged, not cast, so they are stronger too.

Figure on about 125 per piston and 50-60 for boring each cylinder. Do the work yourself and you will save lots of money in labor. maintain the engine yourself and it won't cost much to keep it running. Abuse it and yes, you will always be putting money into it.
