please help with year motor I have

evinrude115hp model # 115 393m serial # J 03368 I have looked for parts and cant figure out what I need and parts places dont think to give a cross reference for the year to part. This is the only place to find it. Thank you.

Model number 115393M indicates that the engine is 1973 115hp Evinrude.

I don't understand the reference you're making about the parts problem.

thanks for the quick reply I am new with the site.. Try to order a part and not know the year is questionable. Parts places need to have cross references for model number to part number but dont have. They only have year number to part number. Which didnt help me and you did..Thanks again..

if the parts house doesn't know how to find the year from the model #. i doubt they can find the right part, either.
