I just purchased a new boat and need a prop to troll with. Mercury 150 verado on a 18.5 reata. boat weighs about 3400 bare. with me and no extra gear, the rev 4 ss prop 14.5 with 19 pitch wot is 5850 rpm. speed is 47. also was koaded with 15 gals of gas with a 34 gal tank. wot range is 5800 to 6400. I was thinking of a solas amita 15 pitch or a bay pro s.s. 16 pitch. right now it trolls 3.2 @ 680 rpm. the boat will be loaded with another 300 lbs of gear minimum. plus a full tank of gas. I don't know where to start on choosing a prop.
Thanks,
Gary

Re: Please help with prop selection

While I appreciate the simplicity of the prop selection process here at iboats.com (http://boatpropellers.iboats.com/), the "Prop Wizard" over at http://www.boatmartusa.com/marinemall/index.php takes in much more data, i.e. actual boat type, number of people, average amount of fuel, elevation, etc.

I found the Prop Wizard helpful in the selection process, but I still bought my prop from iboats (mostly due to free shipping and the desire to support the site).

I'm sure you'll get many experienced suggestions, but in the mean time, the prop wizard might help narrow things down.
