I to am trying to find out what year my 20hp Mercury is. The serial number is 6146435. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

(FYI)That serial number comes up as a 18hp, Not a 20hp.
1982 MERCURY 18 M ENG serial number: 06146435 Model number 1018202 MERCURY 18 M.

I called is a 20 because my friend said he looked it up and said it was Belgian made and when they shipped it over they had to put an 18hp cowl on it. Thanks for the info.
