How about a 1974 Merc 4 h.p. model 40 that has a serious attitude problem?? No? rats...<br /><br />Ok, well how much are you consider spending on the motor you desire? New vs. used?? Any particular brand loyalty? Remote or tiller steering? Two stroke vs. four stroke?<br /><br />If it were me, I'd begin looking at the local classified ads first. There are a lot of motors for sale online too, but often times shipping charges are involved. Be patient and shop around! It pays!<br /><br />Have fun shopping! Walt

thanks walt.<br /><br />i really need this motor, it needs to be short shaft and tiller rope start. the cheapest there is johnson or evinrude. PLAIN JANE.
