I just purchased a 12 foot aluminum star craft and plan on registering it. The boat does not have a identification plate on it nor did the previous owner know much on it either. I have done alot of research and have not had much luck. The next step is getting a hull number issued ( I'm sure they will need to know the model) I have inserted pictures for reference. Thank you in advance!!!IMG_20200824_171755.jpgIMG_20200824_171745_Bokeh.jpg

100% depends on what state you're in, some states wont be an easy process, others have hoops to jump thru, but doable...

Others are simple.... current paperwork or not.

I am in Massachusetts. I have heard it can be quite the project getting these things registered so I'm hoping this will be a smooth process 😬

Nice boat and nice family. Boats are like cars. You need paperwork, titles, yada yada. The really cheap boats that come without them are cheap for a reason.

Have the previous owner give you the paperwork. If he can't, you should get the boat for free.

The HIN should be on the upper starboard side of the transom. That will ID the boat. If its not there, it is an older model.
