Please help... i have a johnson 15 hp model #J15ELESR

i am trying to free up the throttle handle. it is stuck and doesnt want to turn. i removed it from the body and it is still frozen. how do i take the plastic handle apart from the metal steering rod?

I may be mistaken but the tiller handle is split in twp pieces. Take bolt out, split the tiller handle and the twist grip mechanism should be accessable.

Are you sure the bind is in the twist grip or further up toward the carb in some other pieces of the linkage ?

there are a coule different types,one has a screw exposed at end of handle,you probably have the type that has 2 round dots that are sprung into holes in the handle,push the 2 dots inward while pulling on the rubber handle,be alert,some small parts may fall out,you probably have a frozen throttle cable

mike you are right the two pins worked. now that i have it open the trottle cable is frozen (right again) how do you recommend i unfreeze it?
