Hello all. Thank you in advance for all of the help that I have recieved from you folks already. Being new to boating; this is the most helpful place for problems... I have a 1993 Sunbird 185SS with a 3.0L GM OMC Cobra motor. I have had a issues with timing and carboration. I have taken the advice of this board and other mechanically inclined folks that I know and have had the carborator rebuilt and timing set. The boat now starts and runs, but will backfire through the carb and load up. The mobile boat tech that came out now says that the mechanical fuel pump is bad and is sending too much pressure to the carb, so he put an adjustable fuel pressure regulator on my boat. Still same issue. Does this sound like a fuel pump? Please help.
