First off let me say I am not mechanically inclined. I am not afraid to learn, but experience has taught me I am much better with a computer than an engine so I do try and leave those alone for fear off messing up things worse.

However, I have a problem and can not seem to get any assistance. I own a 94 Fling with a Johnson Evinrude engine. I live in the Phoenix area and would really like to find a reliable mechanic or shop to assist me with this boat.

I am not even sure which manual I need to do anything myself - yes thats sad. I guess if I knew where to find that I could try and do somethings, but I bought the boat because I was told by a few people and read a few places that this was a great starter boat.

However, it blows white smoke - quite a bit of it. It has starting issues and seems to run roughly. This of course was at the end of last boating season, September. Now that boating season is back I would really like to get this overhauled and go enjoy it more this year.

At this point I do not mind taking it somewhere besides Phoenix, but I do not have a clue where I can go. Every marina, mechanic, and dealer says they do not work on this boat. Yet, no one will tell mw why they do not. In fact a few of them said it was a great boat for first owners... UGH.

I am very frustrated and would really like to find a way to get this looked at by a good shop. Please let me know if there is anywhere you know of within a days drive of Phoenix I could possibly go.

Thanks much!

Ligge welcome to iboats. You might post this in the Johnson/evinrude section. Lots of great help in these forums. Down here in the cellar people seems to get slow responces.
