I have a 1991 Pro V 150 Yamaha on my ranger and the carbs are corroded beyond repair due to ethonal. Does anyone have the upper and middle carb used at a fair price? If not, does anyone know if any other year or engine model carbs will interchange or work? Thanks, Kev

Re: PLEASE HELP!! 1991 Pro V 150 Carbs

Yep. I just bought the boat and it came from up north where ethanol is around 20% in most places. It was running fine last fall but this spring it wouldn't run hardly at all so the guy put it up for sale. He thought it had something internal wrong with the engine but turns out the brass venturi tubes in all 3 carbs are completely corroded out! The tubes and venturi's are not replacable and I'm getting conflicting stories from local shops about wheather or not there are any substitute carbs that will work. Almost all of the yamaha 90 degree V6 engines use the same basic 2 barrel carbs. However the 1990 and 1991 Pro V's (model# P150TLRP) use a different part number for each of the 3 carbs. Some shops tell me the carbs from a regular yamaha 150TLRP will work fine, while other shops tell me they would be affraid it might cause internal engine damage if the carbs are not the exact part numbers listed for the engine. Any help would be great.
