I'm wondering about the two little exhaust ports in the back of the engine. If the engine exhaust comes out through the prop, what is the purpose of the other two exhaust ports up near the powerhead? Also, why, on some engines, does water spray out of them, and on others, it doesn't?

Thanks

Relief ports for engine at idle, the engine in some cases does not have enough energy to push the water down out of the leg at rest.

Not all the coolant comes out of the pee tube, some also comes out of holes in the bottom of the powerhead and down the middle section to cool the exhaust tunnel. Spray from the relief ports is quite normal..when you say it happens on some engines and not others you may have a point there because the first time I noticed it on mine was when I replaced the pump and there was plenty of circulation, and guess what?. I was asking what you are asking now!..Best of luck..
:p
Regards Keith B.....Keep it simple..
