First off,, thanks in advance for the advice. This site is wonderful and I truly appreciate everyone here. Since I live in the sticks, this site has been a wealth of info and parts. Thanks
Here is the story. I pulled my boat out of the storage shop last week. The belts were needing to be replaced, so I did that right off. I hooked up the water hose and started her up. Started great, ran great. Took, the boat to the lake, which again, started great, ran great. About 30 min into the run, I noticed the engine running hot, about 200 degrees or so. The whistle never went off, I just noticed the temp up. I throtled down and idled, letting the engine get back down to about 110. I then turned off the engine and pulled the hose off the raw water pump and circluation pump and noticed that one blade of the raw water pump had broke and was causing a small blockage. I removed the remanence, and checked the impeller on the raw water pump and it had all but one blade, so I put it back together and idled in, which cooled the engine down to 100 degrees. I went home and replaced the raw water pump impeller and tested her out at home. Started up, idled fine and cooled engine as it should.
A week later, I take the boat out and she starts a little slow, but appears to run great. Temp was normal the whole time. While skiing, i noticed it did not have normal power, so we brought her back in and I started looking her over. What I found is, water in the oil (milky looking) and after pulling the plugs, the last cylinder (last meaning the one closest to the back of the boat) had water on the plug. I assume it is a head gasket, and or possible the head. I have no compression gauge, but by looking at the plugs, I assume the front three cylinders are fine and the leak is just in the last cylinder. I am hopeing the head gasket simply was compromised by the heat and blew whlie we were out the following week.
Also, I winterize this boat well and keep it in a shop over winter. Oh and one more thing, I could not find any visible water coming from the engine anywhere, head, block, manifold, or in the bilge.
Thanks for your time and advice.
