Hello everyone,
I am in the process of rebuilding my carbs with new rebuild kits. I decided to check my plastic float bowls for warpness by placing the float bowl on my glass coffee table in the upstairs loft of my house to see how warped they are. I notice that there is some warpness between the 2 bolt holes on all four sides of the float bowl. What I did is placed the float bowl on the table and look for light in between the glass table top and the float bowl and saw an air gap like I said between the glass and the float bowl between the 2 bolt holes on each side that I turn the the float bowl. Is it suppose to be exactly flat all the way around without a air gap or is that exceptable. I am hoping that the gasket will make the difference up that comes in the carb rebuild kit that I have not recieved by mail yet, which should be here by tommorrow or next week. Thanks again for your help, Bob:(

I have yet to see a perfectly level float bowl on those plastic carburetors since their entry upon the outboard scene.

The gasket and the retaining screws have always eliminated any problems in that department. Bottom line..... I wouldn't be concerned about it.
