My nephew-in-law (Iraq-vet Army reseve) has been working the weekends as an E.M.T. at the Kansas City Rennisance (sp) Festival & staying overnite Saturdays at our place as he lives a couple of hours from here. He's a great guy and can really talk a guy's leg off, but to make a long story even longer, he scored 6 free tickets for my wife, my two girls, and my oldest girl's best friend & mom (who's also a close friend with my wife).
Enjoy, my friends
Here are the Troupe of Gypsys that sang and acted wonderfully. They were my favorite part!
Here's their violinist who could truly play beautifully.
Here's the best mime I've ever seen in my life! He was acting as a perfect robot and wound himself up & a hidden wrist-held device sounded just like and alarm clock or old wind-up toy. I wanted to crank him up to full speed but my wife had to hold me back! He creeps my wife out, but he's my favorite part!
Here we are in the front row (me in blue sweatshirt & cap) listening to a very talented hammer dulcimer player He was playing Greensleeves when we walked up and then played an original tune composed by him, titled Shades of Rain. This was my favorite part!
Here's a gentlemen explaining his pet birds to the girls.
Here they are riding Paige (the elephant). This was Chandler seated at the back (my youngest) favorite part!
This gentlemen is explaining to my girls and the other mom how wool is spun into yarn while his wife was doing it right there. Very Cool!
Here they are meeting the Queen after she had just had high tea. She then told them that she was about to go turn into a gypsy (play another part) and asked the girls if they'd rather be a gypsy or a queen and both my girls said "Gypsies!" Uh Oh!
Fishin' Hood & Maid Merriam?
Here's a Scottish band that was playing Amazing Grace when we walked up, and then broke out into a real festive Irish jig! This was my favorite part!
This is Sir William, the Good Knight who jousted (full combat) with a fake killing of the French challenger. I think this was my wife's favorite part! (Notice the nice close up of Sir William as he gallantly rode by on his second pass)?
These last 3 speak for themselves. My Cassidy is the little roller-coaster ridin' thrill nut on the left (wonder where she gets that from?) and her best friend is next to her. Hee Hee!
Priceless!
