Pitot placing on Stern of boat??

Hello,<br />I'm about to replace the Pitot on my boat and would like to do it once and correctly. The arm of the Pitot is shaped like a planes wing and I'm not sure where to place this Pitot. I do know it must be at the stern of the boat and the arm must be at the bottom the transom. But do I need to be concerned if it is on the port or starboard side of the transom???<br />Thanks alot for any input<br />Mike and son Zach really enjoying the boat projects.

OK...little mistake...go to downloads and find the Speedometer with pitot. You'll get the PDFfile with drawing . Just installed it myself, works nicely.<br />Frank
