Has anyone had any experience with these trolling/positioning motors and locators. I am thinking of buying a system but would like some input from someone who fishes with them. Thanks in advance.

Howdy, Boseefus.

The guide I fish for walleye with on Lake Of The Woods uses Pinpoint to track ridges about 1' high on the bottom in 22-30' of water. We limit out while boats all around us catch little or even get skunked.

I've been back to the same spot with my GPS and had to fish all day for a limit. I use the same techniques, baits, etc., but no Pinpoint.

I think the system works, but I don't fish walleye enough to justify the expense.

Good luck.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

Re: PinPoint Positioning Motors

Hello,
After months and months of talking , reading and studying for my entire boat, motor and equipment purchase it has all come in place.
My NUMBER ONE consideration is quality and usable functions.
I have friends who are professional Bass fishermen. I was close to buying a Lowrance but was talked out of it in favor of a Pin Point 7320.
The vast majority of Pro Bass fishermen out west use Pin Point. A 3" rubber worm can be seen at 40ft and a fish can be recognised 1" off the bottom. The warranty is double that of a Lowrance/Eagle. If a problem does occur, the Pro's are amazed by the turn around time.
One Pro said the difference between a Lowrance/Eagle to a Pinpoint is twice greater then a Hummingbird to a Lowrance.
My own personal limited experience, since it is very new to me is, the screen resolution and boggies and structure is VERY clear and defined. It is in this sense second to none in its price range. I went way out of my way to purchase this unit and it was worth it.
