I just tested my primer bulb, it gets hard with about 6 or 7 pumps but after about 2 minutes the bulb is about 1/2 soft . i did this while the motor was not running . is this normal or should it stay hard for a while ????

Re: Pimer bulb

The primer bulbs have chech valves in them to hold the pressure from bleeding back. If it goes soft after a few minutes that pressure (fuel) is going somewhere, Either it's bleeding back to the tank or going past the needle(s) and Seat(s) in the carb(s).

Buy a new one-they're cheap, about $5-$10.00.
If it too goes soft after just a few minutes, I would be lkooking for a flooding concern in the engine-see above.
