has anybody else from northern Ontario noticed that the larger northern pike seem to be overly active lately?on my resevior several people have reported larger pike hitting the wallys when you are reeling them in.it happened to me this last time at camp also.im on the hunt for 25lbs plus which are in there its just finding one .just want to catch ,take picture and release.the wally are just plain stupid and are hitting just about anything you throw at them.i caught them on a black fury all this summer and also had one hit my daredevil.caught a small 4 lbs smally on the devil the time out also.fishing has been great .sorry ,when I say several people I mean 3 as on my 35 mile res if you see 3 boats all week its busy.its like a private fishing paradice .theres a bonus for living up north!35 miles of resiviour and maybe 10 camps total and never more than a couple active at anytime.thats 35 mile long .

Re: pike going on the feed?

I was up in Northern Wi a couple weeks ago and they seemed to be biting better than previous years. I also hooked into the biggest Muskie of my life at well over 50" but I got too excited set the hook way to hard and snapped my 30lb braided line like 2lb mono. Went up a week later to try catch it again and only smaller pike were biting.
