Changed the plugs this morning, they were not the correct plugs, they were
NGK R TR5 Vpower, Not the NGK BPR6EFS that Don recomended (which I put in)
These plugs in the pictures had about 130 hours on them and recently I was feeling hesitation. Almost all of my use is on the Intercoastal Waterways where speed is limited to Idle speed only or Minimum Wake. Many days the RPM's never exceed 1300, and mostly 1100 or 1200. Any thoughts on condition of plugs or any adjustments that should be made to carb?

Thanks very much..... Rick

Are the spark plugs you removed the correct heat range?
You don't know that so you can't determine if the engine is running rich until the engine is run with the correct spark plugs installed.

They are not the correct spark plugs for your engine. You should be running a AC MR43LTS if the plugs you have crosses to a 42lts as Bt mentioned, then it's the wrong heat range.

No they are not wrong, You now have the correct plugs.

I put in the NGK's that you listed, Are they wrong?

AC MR43LTS, or NGK BPR6EFS
The three plugs that are recommended for your engine are,
AC - MR43LTS
Champion - RS12YC
NGK - BPR6EFS
all Gapped to .045.

It appears to me BT's link may have some incorrect listings, They have R42LTS when it should be M "R43LTS".

Now the V power plug you had should have been somewhat close enough to your recommended plugs to where it hopefully should not have caused any sever damage to the engine. I know there have been some people out there that have ran them in the past on certain types of engines that is pretty close to your style of engine and they had no sever ill effects to the engine to my knowledge anyway. But you are so much better off now that you have the correct plugs.:)

Yes the V power is not the right plug for your engine and under the certain types of conditions that you are running in, the spark plugs will most definitely come out in the rich conditions you are seeing and cause the engine to run rough.

Also make sure your engine temp is at 160 degrees at the thermostat housing, And Run the new plugs for a few hours and see what they look like just to make sure everything else is ok.

Good luck with it.:)
