Is the 800 lb gorilla just too many photos on the server. There must be millions maybe it's full?

We are working with the hosting folks. that could be it, could be a few things. unfortunately us mods do not have access to the server....... we are able to swap the deck, just not check on the engine.

Ah so they won't let you into the engine room maybe admin can run a photo delete routine. If photo x is x days old then kill.

That's a terrible idea. One of the greatest resources on iboats are the threads documenting restorations. If photos are deleted after a period of time, those threads become worthless. Restoration threads without photos are not nearly as useful to folks wanting to fix a similar boat.

That category could be exempt. I agree with you, a simple routine it would just take a few more lines of code.

Looks like this photo thing is dragging on. Can't be that difficult maybe need an additional server. I don't know. Sure there's some dollars involved. Always is.

There was one member that was able to link "dropbox" to share an image he was in need of for help but the downside of dropbox is it appears his real name is shown too so if that is a concern to someone, then there are probably better ways out there.

I used to use TinyPic for working around upload limits. But having been a former forum mod elsewhere where offsite linked pics were trouble when the offsite host nuked the files (Photobucket in particular), I hesitate to do that.

Nothing like reading an old thread with the picture you need to figure something out (and a picture referenced by every other thread on the subject)... only to find it was a !@#$ing photobucket pic that's gone to the bit bucket in the sky... this literally did happen to me trying to find the water bypass ports on my MC-1!

I remember that photo bucket fiasco seemed they wanted to charge a membership fee to upload. I don't think it worked too well.

So just checked imgur upload and working. Apparently samsung and they have worked out issues. Upload from app on phone then tablet or laptop to grab link here if yer old like me. If yer young well you figure out posting on phone. It's free as well. Welcome back to 2016....easiest is to use bb code link you just paste in without using this forums link upload.
