It's California, the judge will make the final decision. He will either spend life in prison and die of natural causes, or spend life on death row and die of natural causes. There is no way they are going to execute him in that state. I must say that even though I think he's guilty, with so much circumstantial evidence ( was there any "red handed evidence" just asking, I never read about any) I don't think he should get the needle.
