Does anyone know of a toaster that lasts more than a few months? Years back, I finally found a toaster oven that was durible but I haven't found a toaster yet.

The last toaster I bought was by Quisanart. They make a good food processor and I'd hoped that would carry over to their toaster. Wrong! It was as worthless a piece of junk as all the others. I just threw it in the trash.

They all seem to quickly loose their ability to turn toast golden brown without having to pop the toast down several times.

I want a toaster that works and lasts.

I have a 5 year old toaster that works, the only drawback is that you have to pay attention when the toast flies out so you can catch it before it hits the floor. You could also use it for clay pidgeons...Chief ;)

I've got an under-cabinet B&D toaster/oven also. It came with this house we bought 17 yr. ago and still works great. Don't know how old it was when we bought the house, but it wasn't new.

I have seen some toasters that cost in the $100 + range n\but that's a little to much.

I did buy a DeLonghi toaster oven about 8 years ago. It's outlasted about three other name brand toaster ovens and it gets used all the time.

My black and decker toaster is at least 8 years old...still works as good as new. Golden brown, pops up fine...

I got an old General Electric toaster that must be at least 15-20 yrs old. I know its old cause it says "Made in the USA"

I have it on the highest setting and it makes toast perfectly every time.

Ken

I still have an old GE stainless steel toaster from the 60's. Still works, but it is on a shelf as a decoration.

Sometimes old = better
Well in 2000 and 2001 Mrs.Link and I stripped her moms beach house/cabin. With the exception of her mom once or twice a year for meetings no one had been there since the late 80's. This was a covert operation by us.
After we finished it we took our stove/oven over there and and brought back two ToastMasters.. one a toast/pastry maker from the 60's and a DeskTop Oven plus a two burner Grants Rangette hot plate..
Thats been our entire kitchen for the last 4 years and they all work great.
PS the hot plate has cloth covered electrical cord  but works fine.
Hmmmm all made in America... ;)
Maybe a thrift store?? Jking :D
