My problem is a pesky, intermittent problem with my fuel guage. One day it works, next day it doesn't. I've isolated several connections which when cleaned allowed the guage to read correctly. now it reads above Full.

Sender is good:
It's got around a half tank, & the sender ohms at 80. Jumping the sender's pink to a ground sends the guage to Empty.

Performed the gauge isolation procedure I found in the archives in the "Fuel Guage Problem" thread:

Connected a "hot" wire to the "I"(purple) terminal and ground wire to "G" terminal with all other wires off the gauge . Gauge read below Empty. When I touched the pink sender wire to it's post, gauge sweeps back to full. So the gauge is good, or is it? With the pink wire off, reading empty, the gauge doesn't move when S is jumped to ground.

So, if the gauge and sender are good, it's got to be a connection. The bullet connector on the sender has a pink, black, and green wire coming from it, but there's no green up at the gauges. What other connections may exist between the sender, ignition switch, and gauges? What is the green wire for?

As always, many thanks!
