Does anyone know if the Pertronix is considered a 'magnetic' pick up or a "Hull? Effect" pickup. I want to run an MSD multispark ignition system and I think they say they are not compatible with Hull Effect systems.

A 'hall effect Sensor' incorporates magnets.

Yes, the non delco pertronix uses a magnetic Hall Effect Sensor.

Pertronix for delco distributors use optical sensors (spinning wheel).
