pertronix ignitor II with flame thrower coil

pertronix suggests bypassing the resistor wire to the coil.. i have read some that said they ran a wire from the ignition switch? Is that a proper way to bypass the resistor? What other specific points could be used to tie in to the 12v from ignition?

Any ignition switched 12 volt source will do. You can find one in the engine compartment. You do not have to run a new wire to/from the ignition switch. Then disconnect your resisted lead to the coil and tape it securely.

I think your read my reply to an earlier post. I ran a wire directly from the ignition as my resistor wire was bad in the original wiring.

hey i take it i should open up the gap on my plugs a bit? is that true? And if so what should the plug gap be?

.035 is sufficient gap.

Do you have a starter assist solenoid?? (NOT the one on the starter) If so, there would be 12V switched there.

current have acmr43t at .035... reading some saying go to .044.. ill eave it as is and just worry about getting the thing running for now

yes i do have a starter solenoid.. ill ty into there then and try it out..

i just install the kit on my friend 470 and they are kicking azz right now .

i just run a new wire from the key switch. you wont be sorry installing that kit.

before my friend 470 use to shake like hell now its idle real smooth.

just go do it .
