Ok where in NJ can i purchase the black stuff, i need it bad.

I am about to rebuild the 2.5 motor. I want it, i need it, bad.

Bt know where?

Autozone usually carries it. If you can't find it locally, buy it online.

I usually just use the silicone. You used to be able to buy it in caulk gun tubes. Might still be able to, but these days, I only ever tend to see it in small tubes, or aerosol cans.

NAPA or CarQuest

I couldn't find it at Pepboys, Autozone or Checker when I rebuilt my engine.

I tried 2 napa's. Didn't have it. Anyway moot point discovered the block i was going to use had a cracked corner, bolt hole.

I gave it way.

Thats it.

Permetex makes a gasket maker in a caulk gun. It comes with the gun,its shorter than a normal caulk gun. This stuff works Great! I put it around the Orings on my 800 stringer when I reassemabled it.no water in the gear lube at all this is my 3rd year on the drive.
My friend has a auto shop and swears by it.
Just an opinon.
