Could someone give me their thoughts or experience with this issue? I have a 2006 22 ft Bennington Pontoon powered by a 2006 Yamaha 115 hp engine. With two people on the boat the top speed is 25 mph. The prop has a pitch of 15 degrees. I have been told with this engine and boat size it should run at 30 MPH. Any ideas on this?

Re: Performance

Not sure why speed matters on a pontoon boat, but that sounds like too small a pitch. What RPM's are you turning.

5800 PMS at full throttle.

5800 sounds good. My experience has been with larger ones which ran faster with the same motor and a 17 pitch at about the same RPM's.
