Just curious but do they make performance chips for Outboards.

I know that the Honda 115/130 and 135/150 are pretty much the same motors but tuned differently. I am surprised that there are not any chips available to get a few more ponies out of these outboards.

There are no upgrades for these enigines because ,at that point you become the manufacturer and set yourself up for a whole lot of liability not common to the automotive industy. You can't just park your boat on the side of the road and walk away.

Re: Performance Chips

150 has VTEC, 135 doesnt. Different cams, rockers, ecu, etc, etc, etc....not as easy as you think.... Regardless, I am sure that different engine tuning/ modified ecus can squeeze more power from the engine, but an outboard, especially Honda, is all about reliability and modifying the fuel mapping will decrease the reliability.
