Just got motor (200 Merc EFI, 1998 offshore)back from shop..had one cylinder re bored & others honed & replaced impeller...noticed that water temp of water coming from pee hole is hot, probably above 150 degrees... mechanic said this is normal, especially since type of work done on engine....does this sound right? Also, water pressure gauge is showing 12 lbs. @ 40000 rpm.

Re: Pee Hole temp

150 sounds reasonable, but 40000 rpm sounds like a bit much. You may wanna add a few inches to the pitch of your prop...just a suggestion :D

12 psi @WOT I am 99% sure that is right. I think anything from 12-15psi @WOT on engines of that size is correct. By the way, 5800 rpm's is the max rpm recommended by mercury for that engine. I would recommend that you pitch your prop out an inch, bringing it down to about 5600rpm. While 5800 is still within the recommendation, I would go a little lower just for safety. I would hate for you to spin out in a sharp corner and dump about 3k+ outta your wallet. Good luck
