This isn't a stupid boat ramp story but it sure could have been if not for a littel patience.
The other day I got to the local ramp and a truck seemed to be taking their time retrieving their boat. I got mine ready. They were still taking their time. Patience, but I stood at the back of my boat watching their progress. Then ah here they come up the ramp... My turn! No they stopped, blocking the ramp got out of the truck and went back to the water to talk with another boater there. Patience Grasshopper, here comes the driver he is going to move out of the way?? No he got something out of the truck and went back to water. By this time about 10 minutes had passed and I was about to go over and ask nicely if they could move so I could get in, then I noticed HarborMaster on the door of the truck.
My mind quickly ran down the short list of required safety items just in case they were checking and I was not in violation of anything but I didn't want the hassle. In a few more minutes they were on their way without a word.
Ahh patience IS a virtue and wise advice to practise it.
