I just read about someone with brakes seized in the forward direction. Mine are frozen in both directions. Good times...

Just wanted to see if there was a silver bullet out there- I need to get my boat out of the water and back home (less than 4 miles round trip).

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Well,....

If you've got Drum brakes,.....
And,...
If you've got Wheels that'll allow a rather large stout steel bar to be placed on the brake Drum,.......

Whack It,..... Hard,..... With a BFH,.... 10lbs. or Bigger,...............

If that Don't Work,.......... It's Got to come Apart.............

Don't know if drums on a trailer is like a car, but you might also want to find the adjuster and back off on the brakes.

This would be a factor if the wheel cylinder is frozen, not the shoes. The adjuster is found under an obong rubber cover on the back plate. Remove the cover and you will find a toothed wheel. Using a screwdriver as a lever you turn the wheel. One way makes the the brakes tighter, the other way looser.

If you have it you might want to back off the brakes on that wheel even if it takes the big hammer. That way if you have backed them off enough when the brakes apply as you go down the road the passenger brake will not engage and risk locking up again. Good enough to get home.
