Hello!

I am currently rebuilding an older outboard that I came across. The block is currently in the shop getting re-sleeved as it had a piston go bad in the #2 cylinder. I am looking to make sure I am about to order the correct items and was hoping I could verify with you all that they are correct.

For the Powerhead Gasket Kit I have P/N: 0384960. This kit is for all the gaskets on the block.
For the Carburetor Rebuild/Repair Kit I have P/N: 384413. Not sure if there is a more current p/n.

Also not sure if I need to purchase an exhaust seal that seals the powerhead to the midsection or if that is included in the powerhead gasket kit above.

Thank you all in advance for the help!

William

Go to shop.evinrude.com and look up your motor for all the gaskets needed. Be sure to page down when checking # 's

That baffle gasket needs to come from OMC, Bombardier, Evinrude, whatever. It's a very thin, rubbery gasket, but the aftermarket makers use different gasket material.

After several changes, the newest number for the carburetor kit is 0396701, comes with a new float. OR...18-7222 here at iboats (with float). OR...18-7042 w/o float.

Thanks everyone for your help!!! I think I have everything ordered now to start rebuilding this powerhead once it gets back from the machine shop except the pistons.

With the pistons, I am running into dead-ends and looking to see if you guys/gals know of any place to look for them. I have looked all over online and found one place that listed they had them and ordered. I got a call from them that they were actually not on-hand and my ordered cancelled. I know they are old and listed at most places as discontinued. Hoping that someone knows a place to look that carries older outboard parts/pistons.

Here are the part numbers I have for the standard pistons listed for it:

P/N: 0383524 (shows replaced by 0385339)
P/N: 0385339 (shows L/P 81.63 also)

Thanks again for all your help!

These motors are so plentiful and marketed for nearly 20 years.-----Parts and pieces are everywhere.----Not sure why one would go to the expense of sleeving one of them.-----Visit------aomci ----and ask for help there.--------Your location should be posted as it may convince someone to help you.
