Parts for my Outboard

I have a 9.9 Yamaha and I need a new shift control cable for the tiller handle, and for some reason nobody lists it by my model number. can anyone please tell me the part number for it? the sticker on my motor reads:

6G9 F9.9ELHY

It seems this number 6G9-48311-02-00 pops up for all of the F9.9 models, but I see what you mean about your model not being listed at all?

I assume it's the 2000 model?

That was what I kept getting as well. I hope its right, thats the one I just ordered from ebay.

I called Yamaha, and they told me they dont even show a listing for this model... They told me if must not have been built in the U.S., maybe Canada?. So they have no way of ordering the part for me and I dont know how to get a part number to order the shift cable myself. Anyone have any Ideas? I tried going to a local cable shop and they said they didnt have anything like it.

It looks like all Yamaha 2000 F9.9xxxx use the same cable.
Does this look like the one you have? All of the models seem to use the Control 1 F99MH tiller as far as I can tell. http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamaha/Outboard/2000/F9.9ELRY/CONTROL 1 F99MH/parts.html

It looks like all Yamaha 2000 F9.9xxxx use the same cable.

The cable you are showing is the throttle cable, I need the shift cable, I did find out that it is a Japnese made model and the local parts house is researching the model number to try and find the part. from what I have found so far the US models do not have the shifter on the tiller arm and there is no cable just a lever just as the diagram you attached shows. I researched a little more and e-mailed "ALS MARINE CENTER" http://www.alsmarine.com.ph/ This is a parts dealer in the Philippines and requested the tiller shift cable for your model "2000 F9.9ELHY". Anyway you can try the part numbers they e-mailed me in the copy of their response below.
