1997 175XL 0G584188 Binnacle mount in a Boston Whatler with a push to choke key switch and seperate kill switch.

The original key switch is part of the harness, no soldered joints, no bullet connectors. Do they make a kit that allows a clean install? Is there a replacement that has the pigtails for all the extra leads? For example, while the switch is technically a six wire switch the original actually has several more wires as many come out of the same pole doubled up if you will.

I don't really want to splice a bunch of wire pairs together and then crimp on a disconnect. It just would not be clean. Its a whaler so fishing a harness thru is out of the question.

I have a hell of a time finding Merc part numbers for this type of stuff and we do not have the greatest Merc parts room at any of the local dealerships, with one exception. (he is too busy and wants me to do an ugly with a sierra replacement.)

Thanks in advance for anyones' time, I do understand how valuable it is...

the wires are soldered, then the end is epoxied.

pull the epoxy off, snip the wires at the switch, re-solder new switch, reapply epoxy, go boating
