The French President has done himself no favours (again!) by storming out of a meeting when the speaker announced that he would be speaking in English as it was the international language of business.<br /><br />Full story here <br /><br /><br />Gee's this guy really needs a wake-up call and get with the rest of the world PDQ.

It's hard to know the truth from reading the media's report. I wonder, is it possible, that he stepped outside to pickup one of those translator devices and earpiece?<br /><br />I would like to assume that the snobby frenchmen just snubbed him for speaking in English, but I don't know for sure.

Like it or not, English is informally considered the universal language in most countries.<br /><br />And it certainly is for business.<br /><br />In Norway, all contracts from the local oil companies are in english. However, many meetings are conducted in Norwegian.<br /><br />Ken

Having been to France several time's, the frogs do tend to be quite arrogant when they have to speak English.<br /><br />But then, I've seen some beautiful "frog's" legs on the beach in Cannes and St. Tropez.
