Parking boat on a hill....

I have a question. Looking for the family's first boat, but, my driveway has a decent grade to it. the only flat spot is the front (and my wife won't let me park it there, she won't park on the street so I can have a boat). Would standard wheel chocks be ok? I was thinking Gorilla Glue a set to a cinderblock might be the right idea, but, what do y'all think?

PS this is not an extreme grade, but, my car with no brakes would roll into the back yard, then the neighbors yard, then the neighbors house without a push.

thanks

Pick up one or two of those pre-cast concrete curbs and set them across the driveway as a stop. They don't look bad, they are heavy enough that nobody is going to move them, and it makes it easy to back your boat into the same spot every time.

+1 on the curb idea, unless you have to put it in front of a garage door then standard chocks will work. You can get RV chocks at Wally world. Get one for each side so it doesn't spin. I usually keep a couple of cords of chocks around but they get burnt every winter and need replaced.

I am in the same boat (no pun intended as you) with the grade (the wife I ran off :D). I'm ALWAYS concerned about parking a trailer where I do (never had one move though but always a concern in my mind). If you are real concerned use the curb idea (I'd say that does look better than wood, or blocks). and either wrap a chain around the trailer and secure it to a solid object or get a wheel lock (that way if it did begin to roll it won't go too far).

I know it doesn't need to be said but, make sure you can (do) raise the bow higher than the stern while parked also. This is kinda a trick with the grade I park on.
