Hello all as you can tell i'm new and i need to paint the bottom of my boat but really don't want to spend the 250.00 a gallon would this paint be ok it's from west marine Pettit Hydrocoat antifouling paint it's going on sale for 120.00 a gallon or do i need something like West Marine Multi-Season ablative Antofouling Botton Paint thats also going on Sale for 170.00 a gallon if nither one can someone suggest what one i should use plz

Check out Interlux, they have have some cheaper antifouling paints, conversly, you get what you pay for, my personal favorite is Interlux Micron CSC.Its not one of the cheap ones.

I like ablative AF paint because it does not build up as much as single season paint. I once had to strip off a decade of single season paint. I had small mountains of heavy copper paint particles, as I got down to the bare hull.

You should get two years out of an ablative paint. I use the WM brand. I have never tried the latex-based paint. Since i tosss the roller and tray liner, it doesn't matter anyway.
