Is it a paint-code/paint-name for that specific paint?<br /><br />Look at "readers gallery" at http://mitglied.lycos.de/old_omc/ there you can see pics of it. Hi,<br /><br />A good source for paint for older outboards is:<br /> http://www.axxent.ca/~nymarine/ <br /><br />I have the same motor you do only in the 5.5 HP.<br />I basically use that motor for parts, so if there is anything you need just ask. There is a picture of the motor on my web site below.

If you have hard time getting a hold of those paints, you may want to just print a picture of your engine off mitglied and go to a car paint specialty shop where they can produce the exact colors you need by computer scanning the add and do some computer guided paint mixing. There is a European high quality paint producer called "Sikkens" that does the same over here.<br />Good luck.

Henning<br /><br />Tempo isn't sold on this side of the pond, and they dont ship, I tried. Listen to rolmops - Take some parts or a picture to a car paint shop - its no problem for them.

Hello Dane.<br />Try and ask them for a non sandable aluminum primer. You should be able to get it in a car paint store as well.<br />I see that you are well past the thousand posts!<br />Would you like to be a viking admiral or a long boat admiral??

I hope you can get it.It is mostly the same as self etching. The secret is that it combines itself with the oxidizing layer of aluminum and almost becomes part of the oxidized metal. You must do your top layer within 4 hours of spraying the primer or it will loose its effectiveness. And of course you do not have to sand it.

Spies Hecker makes a self-etch primer in spray cans. Sikkens(Akzo-Nobel parent company) has a "Color Map" catalog with all colors placed in order of color and hue. Very easy to locate and mix any color. Take a color sample with you and go to a autobody shop supply store that sells these brands.
