Paging System for Mom to call Dad

My mother requires someone to be with her when she is walking, moving, or otherwise ambulatory. Currently my father takes her to her chair, then to her bed, then to the bathroom, back to her chairs etc... He would like to go outside when she is laying down in bed or be able to go out to his shop but is afraid to leave the house unless someone is there.

Do you know of any system where my mom could wear around her neck that she could push a button and it would page my dad. Preferably something that could be tied to his cell phone.

Lifelock or similar calls 911 and that isnt what she needs at this time, just something that she can push where my dad or the caregivers can hear without staying in the room constantly with her.

Any ideas, thoughts, or ways to accomplish this?

So dad has a cell phone, does mom?
She could call him.
Or use PTT (push to talk) feature if the phone has it.

You will find at least the medical notification devices that I have been familiar with/looked into/etc. do not immediately call 911. They make contact with the person first to determine the need and then call the 1st or 2nd person on the list if that is what is needed. They only call 911 if there is no verbal response or they determine it is an emergency.

Check out wireless baby monitors. For around $100 you can get one with a 500' range and video. No need to push any buttons, she should only need to call out if she needed assistance.

i have some of the Motorola 2 way radios. Most of them have a 5 mile range. A baby monitor would work if he is not going too far. A lot of them are battery powered now. You could also setup a camera system like Arlo. It sends an alert to the cell phone when motion is detected.

A lot of great ideas already suggested, and I too like the baby monitor system. There are lots of short range radio systems that don't cost too much and will allow easy communication between them.

Took Bob_VT's advice and googled it. Purchased a long range personal communicator which Mom pushes a button on her necklace and it calls his cell phone. Up to 4 numbers can be programmed plus 911. $250.00 for peace of mind is money well spend. Thanks for the suggestions.
