PA license usable in NY?

I have a boating license in PA, but vacation up in NY with family. They recently got a PWC which requires a license in NY. Would my PA license should be acceptable if we happened to get checked and I was riding it in NY? I can't seem to find an answer googling or looking at the license websites but maybe I'm overlooking it.

Yes, If your registration is current and the licensed was officially issued.

Anticipate that you will be checked

However........ you must obey the laws of where you are boating and NOT say you did something wrong because it was legal in your home state.

ALL the states in this area have reciprocity. Just as your driving license is acceptable in N.Y. so is your boating license. If you get a citation on either, you will be made to pay too.

Not meaning to jack the thread, but this may be relevant....
How about New Jersey?

There seems to be some confusion there.
The NJ web site leads one to believe that they recognize other states, but other information on the same site says they don't recognize any boater safety/license obtained through an on-line course where the final exam is not taken in an in person, proctored setting.

Can anyone clarify the issue with NJ?

My boating area will be the Delaware River and Bay. It would be a real pain to have to stay away from the Jersey side to keep from being hassled.

Ive boated in the Delaware River with no issues. As long as your registration is current in PA, you are able to boat anywhere

My boat is registered in Delaware since that is my primary area of operation.

I live in Pa near Philly, and I would like to occaisionally cruise the river in the Philly area.

I have heard that the Jersey marine police are known to hassle anyone who doesn't have an NJ cert...
