OX66 oil consumption

I run a pair of 2001 250s and one uses 2 gallons oil for 100 gallons of gas and the other uses 3 gallons of oil for 100 gallons of gas. Had local yamaha dealer adjust the linkage but not much change. What else could be causing this? Also motors turn same rpm's and the one using more oil burns alittle more than 1 gallon of gas an hour more than the other.
