owners manual and maintenance/repair manual

Good morning

Hoping someone could link me to a downloadable owners manual for a 1997 8hp evinrude 2 stroke ? I'be been looking and no luck. Everyone seems to want money for an owners manual which seems ridiculous. With the internet age manufacturers should be providing them free for download IMHO....

Also what brand would you recommend for a Hanes type repair/service manual for this and where would I buy it?
