Overheating light on

I have a 2003 bf225 It has around 250 hours on it and has run flawlessly. Ever since the weather has turned cold I have noticed that the red overheat indicator light is on during start-up. I know the engine is cold, why would this light be on? Is it indicating too cold? It turns off once the engine warms up it just slowly fades out. Any thoughts, should this be of any concern?

Re: Overheating light on

Since we are not getting a warning horn or going into power reduction mode we are likley seeing a failure in one of the harnesses or the remote control or keyswitch pad depending on your application. If you are useing the key switch pad my bet would be a faulty harness between the main engine harness and the pad.

Is this something I need to worry about or is it a condition of the cold?

I'dd certainly like to know what is really going on if I were you.You have made quite an investment in this engine and are still under warranty.Cold has nothing to do with it.
