Overheating alarm going off

I have a 2007 Honda 75 hp and the overheating alarm has started going off. I replaced the thermostats. There seems to be good water flow and a good pee stream. After replacing the thermostats I was on the water for about 2 hours before the alarm started going off again. I assumed that the engine was overheating. Yesterday I started the motor and the alarm started going off immediately. No way it was overheating at that point. Before I replace the impeller I was wondering if there is some sort of heat sensor that could be faulty.

Hope the OB guys come, but there would be a overheat sensor. Get a IR temp gun and measure the temp of the motor in several spots to see if something is overheating.

If nothing is, it could be the sensor and could be something else, most cases need a scanner to read codes
