Overheat Beep

I got the overheat beep on a motor I just bought. Got it a few weeks ago after running the motor for about 45 minutes. Discovered a leaking fuel pump. Was told the leaking fuel pump might cause the overheat. Rebuilt the fuel pump - works good, no leak.

First long excursion, after the fuel pump rebuild, the overheat horn sounded again. What is puzzling is it sounded after 1hr 10min of use. I wonder why it takes so long to sound? I would think if there is a problem in the internal the issue would present itself within a few minutes of use. Instead it takes over an hour.

I bought the water pump kit. Not sure if I am fixing something that does not need fixing? Maybe a false alarm?

Opinions appreciated.
