Overheat alarm install?

Id like to install an alarm.Ive never overheated so I don't even know if I have one,where would it be?If its not there,and I doubt it is,How would I install it and what do I need to buy?

Then just keep a eye on it that's the best way and with a buzzer you never know if its working

Tryin to be over protected.I boat a lot in an area that has a lot of sea grass.If im watching for boats,waves etc. and not watching gauge it would be nice to know I have an alarm

It should have come with an alarm for high temp, and low oil pressure. Look on your engine for the switches. They look similar to little temp gauge senders with tan/blue striped wires going to them both.

One other thing, you may have to wait 10 to 15 seconds before the alarm comes on when you just turn the ignition key to the run position.

Would they be spliced into temp sending unit?Is there an area on the motor I should be looking? Ive never seen one on another boat.

Then I don't have one or it doesn't work,Ive never heard a thing(had key to run plenty of times)

The gauge senders and alarm switches have nothing to do with each other. Completely different in operation.

Look on the engine for temp switch around the same area as as the sender for the gauge. Same with the the oil pressure look around the gauge sender.

You just have to go look now that you know they exist.
