Just wondering what short, and long term damage results from filling the oil resevoir completely to the top of a 2001 F100 4 stroke yamaha.
The boat was driven for several days. User complained of boat bogging down at higher rpm's, stalling out at lower rpm's, and being very hard to start.
I performed 100hr service, draining the oil and refilling it to the proper level. The boat now performs fine.
Has anything bad happened? This boat has 1000 hrs on it and runs excellent today.

Are you sure it was pure oil? Perhaps contaminated with fuel?

The user checked the oil while trimmed up. User then topped up with oil which when trimmed back down, was filled to the top.
