ok i just put a water pump in with a new impeller both were shot now i got it back together water pump seems to work great but the motor is so hot to the touch i do not want to start it it never got that hot before what else can this be my old impeller was broke had to get a new one wasnt shooting water out at high rpms only at idle thanks for the help

Does this mean that there was "missing" some parts of the impaller ? , if so did you find those parts .<br />All seals/o-rings in place and ok ?<br />You did remember the impeller pin/woodruff key ?<br />Where did you test-run the engine , barrel or lake/river .<br />Any thermostate on this engine ? replace ?

ok the impeller was all there but cracked pins yes bushings yes all there thermostate i could not find in the manual so i dont know i tested the motor in a drum also on the muffs same thing happen on both

According to my manual ,the thermostate is located in the lower part of the cylinder head .<br />Try to remove it , leave the thermostate cover of when starting , just to see if there is any water there , if so stop the engine , replace cover , start engine .<br />It shuld now run cold , if so replace thermostate .
