Hello, I have a 96 150 rude and the over heat warning light and buzzer has started coming on at startup when it cant possibly be over heating. The tell-tale is working fine. The buzzer almost always comes on immediately after the first startup of the fishing day and is getting worse about coming on throughout the day. I have a shop manuel but I'm not seeing my prob.

Thanks in advance, Darel

Re: Over heat warning

The 150 motors have fuel obstruction device that gives the same constant alarm as an overheat, so that may be your problem. The device is a vacuum switch mounted near the OMS pump; it is connected to the incoming gasoline line.

BTW, the tell-tale lets you know that the water pump is functional, but tells you nothing about the circulation of water through the engine's cooling circuit.
