Why should we store the out drive in the down position? just woundering. thank you.

I prefer the down position, I also change the oil in the drive before it freezes just to make sure there is no water that can freeze and potentially crack the drive.

The main reason to store the drive in the down position is to take stress off the bellows. With your drive all the way up, feel the bellows and you'll see they have quite a bit of stress on them. Also, the drive is designed to self-drain while down. Leave it up and you might get some freeze damage.
